A new diner being created near Spokane, WA. According to news sources the rail car was carried across town by two cranes. It is located on the Newport Hwy. (U.S. 2).
glad to see the new restaurant promoted on the internet. The car was lifted by two cranes and hauled to the site by a local trucking company, then transfered to it's new foundation by crane. It took a month to obtain permission from the state to move. The car is an old sleeper coach that had been converted to a drover coach by the railroad. It was found retired in the Seattle area and was scheduled to be scrapped. The restoration of this car is being done by CPI Design and construction. the same people who built the downtown Franks diner.
